Graduation Party Session : David

This is such a fun family and I feel so blessed to have met them. After photographing David for his graduation portraits, his family invited me to join them as their "paparazzi" for the evening of their party for David's graduation.

If I could have an on-hand photographer for every event I throw, I would do it. Leanne, David's mother, commented afterwards how nice it was to actually enjoy the party, the family and friends and not be stuck behind a camera missing out on moments. I completely agree! When you are behind the camera, you are a spectator, not a participant. For YOUR party, YOU should be there, be in the photos and not the one left out from the captured moments.

Congratulations again to David for graduating college and the best of luck to him in the future!

Proud GREAT grandparents!
The proud grandparents of the new graduate!
Awesome handshake of two really incredible survivors of TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury).
 Happy grandmothers of baby Grace.
 Brothers! David, Peter and Matt!
Two incredible young men who have incredible tales to tell that should inspire everyone they meet.
Congratulations! (This was his first bottle of champagne to ever open! Jessica was trying to show him how it was done!)
Wonderful and happy speech from Grandma.

Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your evening and your lives. It is truly a blessing to know your family.

Bluebonnet Portraits

My little lady is a natural in front of the camera.

This afternoon we had a blast hanging out together and she was the perfect model for me when we went to the bluebonnet patch. She may have sampled a few petals. Haha!

Senior Session : David

"Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decided not to surrender, that is strength." - Arnold Schwarzenegger

This quote epitomizes David's character. He is a man full of strength for overcoming the challenges in his path. He is an inspiration to everyone he meets! I feel lucky to have met him and have the opportunity to spend an afternoon photographing him.

He told me a little about his story which involved a terrifying brush with death in a car accident that has left him with daily struggles, but struggles he takes on and overcomes every single day. He has purpose and there is no doubt he is meant to do great things in the future.

David, thank you so much for allowing me to photograph you and for putting up with my shenanigans asking you to make goofy faces at me!

Congratulations on graduating!

Please, if you share, share my info too!

Father / Daughter Session : Paul & Katelyn

Katelyn is such a sweet little lady and I was privileged with the opportunity to photograph her and her father, Paul, before they had a father/daughter night out on the town (very important evening!) Katelyn went with her mother earlier to find the perfect dress and accessories, get her hair styled (glittered!!!) and nails painted. She is gorgeous! Top it off with a mini photo session before dinner and a trip to the museum and it made for a night she will always remember.

Mom had to get a few pictures with her phone!

Family Session : Jaime & Gabriel

Can love be any sweeter than that between a mother and child?

Jaime and Gabriel allowed me to spend an afternoon with them at the park photographing their incredible bond. Gabriel just turned two years old and that goofy smile of his is contagious! His mother and I met waitressing at the same restaurant in Lubbock and had an instant connection. I love this woman to pieces and I love her family as well.

Good luck with your future together!

Fashion Session : Susan Lee Rigg

Susan Lee Rigg was so much fun to work with!
She is a full time model, visiting family after moving to Italy to further her career. While she is in town she wants to, duh, model! Such a sweet girl, I'm glad I got the opportunity to work with her and it gave me some experience on the "fashion" side of photography.
Susan, good luck with your career!
Please, if you share my images, please also share my credit info!
Enjoy!

Fashion Session : Scott and Rebecca

On Thursday, two other photographers and myself got together to collaborate ideas and boy was I excited to get back to my camera! Isaac Everett provided the models and props, along with the makeup and hair artists. Kent Sparkman and I tagged along to help with ideas and to grab a few shots for ourselves. It was tons of fun and a little warm out but definitely a FUN adventure!

Can't wait to work with these two photographers again! We've all got different styles, but how else can you grow in your own work if you don't try out new ideas every now and then?

Here are some of my favorite shots form the afternoon! Scott and Rebecca were awesome models to work with. :)
